I love the feel of the Uni paddle! Even if I switch to shorter shapes, my hand is much quicker with the Uni. The grit might wear quickly, which is unfortunate. I can't wait for the paddle to be back in stock!
I love the twill surface on my Thompson paddle. I'm hitting some serves that absolutely bewilder even advanced level opponents. I'll be loyal to Thompsen paddles going forward. I chose this paddle in part because it is "Northern Michigan-made". Suggest you show more pride in where you are from by naming the actual location.
My Husband and I both tried these paddles and really liked them, I noticed the control and power, my game really improved significantly. The best part is I didn't have the pain in my forearm after playing with these. My husband is all about the spin and these did not disappoint. We are both considering the Twill's.
The paddles are great. I will likely purchase the Twill. I would recommend the trial be extended to 10 days especially when delivery is delayed due to availability.
This is the second Uni I've purchased. As soon as I started using it this spring, my elbow pain disappeared. Unfortunately, the grit on the paddle only lasted a few months of play and I had to replace the Uni with a new Uni. I really like the paddle but it wears out quickly.
Great paddles, enjoyed the opportunity to compare them. Only issue…..nothing to do with Thompson…..was when they were sent, I got an email saying “delivery 7/2/26”. That night, email “sorry….delivery 7/3/26”. Paddles eventually came on 7/6/26…..dropped off at ups today, 7/13/26.
I loved both the Uni and the Twill, but my favorite is the Twill. Not sure if it's because I used it first or if I just really like it, but it definitely is a great paddle. I am a 3.5 and am looking to improve my game. I especially love the seamless edge as my previous paddle had significant damage on the top edge. Would definitely recommend these paddles.
I was mostly interested in trying the Twill. The paddle played and felt good, solid. Unfortunately, the grip circumference was a tad too big for me. Was looking for 4" or a custom size.
It was very easy to try the paddles once I found that Thompson offered this!
I feel that this program would reach even more people if it were promoted more!
Love this spin machine. 1st racquet I have played with that I can really feel the ball. Im hitting baseline winners with soft placement controll. Love it. Plan to buy widebody when it come out
Using these paddles were a bit difficult for me. I am a short but quick player. I actually hit myself because of the length. Had probably something to do the fact that I normally use a shorter paddle. Also, however, crisp the shot was it would take some getting used to, seven days just isn't long enough.
I received the paddles in a reasonable time, then demo both of them and sent them back with the box and instructions provided.
This paddle generated a lot more power without weight than other paddles I needed to weight-up to get deep baseline power without winding up and losing accuracy. Pretty impressed thus.far. I did weight this paddle up to 12 oz. but cant keep the ball on the court. Will reduce to 10oz to see if it gives me ultimate drive without over driving the ball.
I've been suffering from minor arm pain after pickleball for years. Since I've used this paddle, I no longer have arm pain. It took a few days and different configurations, but I finally figured out the grip on the paddle. The grip the paddle comes with is too thin and hard for my liking. I replaced the grip with a new, softer grip and then added an over grip. Now the paddle is much better!
